      The Jeannette Area Historical Society, established in 2002, is a Registered 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization of volunteers that relies solely on donations and staff-managed fund-raisers  Our Mission Statement is to Collect, Protect and Share. Utilizing a state-of-the-art museum management software system, we are able to logically archive, store and retrieve any historical item at request. Our services are always provided gratis, with any associated costs borne by the Society.  Frankly, this requires funding, not only from our Society’s internal efforts, but from the general populace: residents, former residents and lovers of history. An excessive expenditure of the Society’s time is invested in fund-raising efforts. Not what we envisioned or hoped for, but this is the reality of our situation.  We would like to take this opportunity to solicit a donation: if you are visiting our website, you obviously have an interest in the History of Jeannette.
